JWM Produces The Official 2009 International Trombone Festival Documentary Film!

Last year Jon Welch Music took a brief walk on the wild side and produced the Official 2009 International Trombone Festival Documentary Film. It marks the first time that JWM was asked to undertake such a large film project on a commission basis. We have to admit that we were a little surprised when we were asked, but at the same time, we felt honored that the ITF organizing committee offered us this tremendous opportunity and we accepted with gratitude! We spent a whole month planning and organizing the filming so that, when there, we would be able to give our undivided attention to the important moments and highlights of the festival! The production took us all the way to Aarhus, Denmark where we basically started working upon arrival and didn't stop till the festival ended four days later. We caught plenty of impressions on film, met many people from all over the world, visited many beautiful venues and experienced some very unique moments.

After this exhausting shoot we began putting together all the different parts of the mosaic and after much previewing and discussion, our film emerged. Our client was overjoyed with the result and very pleased that this film vividly reflects the events in Aarhus from June 25-28, 2009. "Watching it, one really gets the feeling as if you were there," said Festival Director Niels-Ole Bo Johansen, Professor of Trombone and Chamber Music at the Denmark Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus which hosted the festival. "Taken either as a documentary of the event or piece of memorabilia, this film has the power to electrify its audience with its exceptional concert performances, interviews and background information!" Rarely have so many world-class trombonists been featured in a single film! For JWM, the most important aspect regarding our film production was, besides making a great film, customer satisfaction. We were thrilled to have the opportunity of working with such high quality material in our first large scale film contract and we are of course happy about the rave reviews the film is receiving! If you're interested, you can of course purchase a download copy in our Online Store (€ 15.99 / $19.99) or order a DVD (€ 19.99 / $24.99). Of course we would like to thank everyone for your positive feedback which encourages us to take on more projects of this caliber!
