| Jon Welch Music Meets Hip-Bone Music |
|
Jon Welch Music would like to present a very special cooperation with Hip-Bone Music, a publishing company that specializes in realistic and hands-on educational material for beginning, intermediate and advanced brass players. Hip-Bone Music founder Michael Davis is one of the busiest freelance trombonists in New York City, active in commercial recording, Broadway shows and top-scale concert and session work. He also tours regularly with the Rolling Stones and is an accomplshed Jazz soloist. His warm-up and etude books always include a play-along CD for a maximum, realistic musical experience and feature a broad range of contemporary styles and grooves. Don't forget to also check out his excellent brass recordings (featuring many industry heavyweights) and his professional level arrangements and compositions. Michael is a quintuple threat: performer, composer, arranger, producer and music educator! The "20 Minute Warm-Up" is one of Hip-Bone Music's best selling contemporary trombone publications and has now been released as an instructional film by Jon Welch Music in cooperation with Hip-Bone Music. Michael Davis himself teaches a class of trombonists at the International Trombone Festival in Aarhus Denmark (June 2009) of different ages, levels and styles. He demonstrates how well this system applies to any player and illustrates that a group like this can actually warm up together having a whole lot of fun and without getting in each other's way. The special bonus of this film in comparison to the book are the tips and tricks as well as the comments that Michael imparts along the way. We are delighted about our cooperation with Michael and hope our new relationship will bear much fruit for both of us in the future!
