"The Grand Gentleman Of Music" - the great James Last did without his steady horn section for the first time and instead of flying them in, he booked Jon's horn section The Matterhorns. The multiple award-winning bandleader James Last came with his son and producer Ronny Last to Hamburg's GAGA Studio to record music for a TV-Show with the Matterhorns. This was a great honor for the Hamburg-based horn section: if you are familiar with James Last's music, you know that it is performed by only the highest caliber musicians. Ingolf Burkhardt and Jon Welch were joined for the recording by further musicians from the NDR Big Band such as Thorsten Benkenstein, Klaus Stoetter, Michael Leuschner, Dan Gottshall and Ingo Lahme . They recreated James Last's patented "Happy Sound" so quickly and skillfully that the father and son producer team were more than pleased and even looking forward to the next collaboration!
